Supporting the DOE & NNSA Supply Chain

From Fernald closure to HALEU enrichment to the 48Y production line — Westerman's role in the U.S. nuclear fuel supply chain.

Fernald closure program

Westerman delivered 2,180 stackable waste containers with grapple rings for Fluor Federal Services' Fernald closure program — a radioactive waste containment program executed with zero defects.

HALEU enrichment support

Westerman manufactured 85 NQA-1 compliant 5B UF6 vessels for the DOE HALEU project at Portsmouth, Ohio (2024–current), directly supporting the return of domestic high-assay low-enriched uranium production.

48Y production line

Westerman produces 150+ 48Y UF6 vessels per year (2020–current) for Mission Control Alliance Services at the Portsmouth site — a steady-state production line serving the DOE/NNSA complex.

Secured fabrication capacity

Westerman's Building 15 Government Services secured facility in Bremen, Ohio (completed October 1, 2025) adds 12,800 sq ft of badge-controlled, 24/7-surveilled fabrication space for controlled work.
